Early November Ft Lauderdale Inshore Fishing Report 11-5-23

It’s been a tough week in Ft Lauderdale with all the heavy winds but don’t let that stop you. The bait (mullet) has been predictable and the snook bite is still going strong! The port has been holding 50lb and smaller size tarpon for a while and the bridges are lit up with snook almost every night. This week the falling tide has proved succesful for the tarpon bite both near the bridges and the inlet if you can stand the chop. Fishing in these tougher conditions can be frustrating but with a little bit of patience you will find the fish that are feeding. Try new spots and new techniques. This week I’ve been drifting a lot of baits on the bottom in the fast moving current, it takes a lot of resetting and adjusting your sinker weight but once you get that dialed in you are only a few drifts away from that big thump you are looking for.
